In the Electronic Part of the system we solved the previously defined problems of the traditional radar system used in Lebanon.

The System we made is composed of:

1) Micro Controller which is considered as the brain of the system. It stores the equation used to calculate the velocity of the target from the given Phase Shift   "Provided by the Microwave Part" , it controllers the Radar's Digital Data Transmitter and Receiver, it controllers the LCD "Display Unit" and enables the operator to choose the limiting speed through the use of a Keypad.

2) Digital Data Transmitter and Receiver a small box containing a Transmitter, Receiver, LCD, Buzzer, and an 16F84A PIC will be placed in each car upon registering it in the Police Department. The micro controller will be programmed with the car plate number. Similar Transmitter and Receiver are placed in the Radar system.

Whenever an over speeding car is detected, the system sends an encrypted code through its transmitter to the car's receiver and orders the car's transmitter to send the stored car plate number "Encrypted also for security" which is then received by the receiver of the system then displayed on the LCD as well as received by the receiver of the portable and stored in the PC Database. All these operations are processed using the PIC.

3) Car number Download Software to easily download each car number into its PIC, a Visual Basic program with Parallel port interface enables the police department to download the car's number

N.B. The Download software do not require a professional to operate.

4) Keypad To enable the Radar System operator to change the limiting speed according to the Highway limiting speed, a keypad was used and also controlled by the PIC.

5) LCD To display the moving car's speed and its plate number, 2-lines 16-character LCD was used in the Radar System. Similarly a 2-lines 8-digits LCD was inserted in the Car box to display a message informing the driver that he/she was caught , moreover a buzzer will beep for 3 times . These LCDs and buzzer are controlled by the PIC.

N.B. This system is easily upgradeable to support Short Message Displays informing about busy roads, Weather forecast conditions and much more information.

6) Database An enhanced Visual Basic program was written with wireless interface facilities that enables us to directly save numbers of the over speeding cars into the portable PC. These information are then transferred to the Police Department main Database

7) Violation Tickets Navigator an online connection linked to the Police Department main Database is located at the internet. Such a link enables any car owner to check for any violation against his car simply by entering his car number.

8) Violation Tickets Online Payment Facilities with a valid credit card , car owner can simply enter our secured-zone Payment wizard and pay for the tickets. Tickets will be automatically deleted from the Police Department main Database.

NOTE:

* We wrote a Program by C Language that calculates the frequency shift corresponding to the target velocity at a given emitted frequency.

* The result was a linear relationship between frequency shift and the target velocity.
