Overview:
We are a group of students studying Communications & Electronics Engineering at Beirut Arab University
According to the university bylaws every student should pass the final year project course in order to graduate .
Project Overview:
The minimum requirement of our project is to make a hand held Microwave Speed Radar Detector using Doppler Effect.
Our project is divided into two parts : Beirut Arab University
(1) Microwave part through which we designed and assembled the microwave part of the system
(2) Electronics & Micro-controllers programming part through which we designed all needed electronic circuits and digital display unit in addition to programming a micro chip controller that will be the brain of the radar.

New System Nobility:
After collecting information about
radar system used in Lebanon we found that this system suffers lots of problems
especially:

The need of a group of persons to handle the process of detecting
speeding cars ( up to 12 persons ).
·
The monitoring person may be confused about the speeding car if
more than one car of the same brand and color were moving on the same highway.
·
The system is not efficient at night since cars’ identities
could not be recognized clearly.
·
The system must operate at the ends of highways since detected
cars must be stopped to be penalized, otherwise this may cause accidents.
·
The bureaucratic difficulties in the violation ticket payment
procedure, since one must spend the whole day to pay his ticket and get back his
driving license.
That’s
why; we decided to concentrate our effort on solving the above deficiencies and
to add more features that may further enhance the system’s work.
Imagine a smart system that detects speeding cars, informs them that they were caught over speeding, saves their registration numbers in the police department Database and enables their owners to check and pay their violation tickets on-line via Internet.
Such a system
is no longer a dream since our team worked very hard to innovate such a smart system
